Some must read books for the modern woman. There are 3 sections here, the first recommended reading is for things everyone should know in order to be informed in our society these books are our top choices we are sure there are others we missed or forgotten so we will be adding to them, although as we have said on the home page please feel free to let us know if you can recommend any books and we'll check them out. The second section is for books through history that have made a real difference to women.

Support Women in Literature

One of the most prestigious literary awards in the world, the Women’s Prize for Fiction – previously known as the Orange Prize for Fiction – celebrates excellence, originality and accessibility in women’s writing from throughout the world.



The winner receives a cheque for £30,000 and a limited edition bronze known as a ‘Bessie’, created and donated by the artist Grizel Niven. Both are anonymously endowed.
